Traveling by sea can be an amazing and relaxing experience whether it be by yacht or a cruise liner. However, getting sick can be a major problem that will ruin the entire experience. This is especially true for cruise liners. Below are 10 tips designed to help you stay healthy at sea.

Seasickness
If you are prone to seasickness move to the middle of the ship. This will be the most stable part. You can also take anti-nausea medication which should be available on cruise ships.

Food Poisoning
Food poisoning can often be a problem on cruise ships. To avoid this wash your hands frequently and do not eat any fruits or vegetables that may have been washed on land.

Vaccinations
If you are traveling to an exotic location it is a good idea to get some vaccinations. A travel doctor will know the proper ones to provide you with.

Exercise
It is easy to gain weight while traveling by sea. To combat this you can do a small workout everyday in the exercise center provided by cruise liners.

Sunscreen
It is important to put on sunscreen every day since you are probably not accustomed to as much sunlight as you will be getting while traveling at sea.

Get Enough Rest
Make sure you get enough rest. It is often a good idea to pack earplugs and a sleeping mask to ensure a good night's sleep.

Bug Repellent
Some common destinations that cruises go to have more bugs than most are uncomfortable. Being covered in bug bights can be painful as well as unhealthy.

Immodium
It is also a good idea to bring an anti-diarrheal medication such as immodium in case you get traveler's diarrhea.

Eat Healthy
It can be a strong temptation to eat unhealthily while you are traveling by sea but your body will thank you for it in the long run.

First Aid Kit
You may also wish to pack a small first aid kit with band-aids and small bandages in case you develop a small injury.
