Most of the time staying at a motel goes smoothly, but sometimes there can be problems that cause unneeded stress while traveling which can ruin an entire vacation. Below is a list of the top 10 hotel problems and how you can avoid them.

No Air Conditioning
Sometimes a hotel will not specify if it has air conditioning or it may not be working in your room. In order to avoid this you can call ahead and confirm your room will have air conditioning.

Not Enough Towels
Sometimes there will not be enough towels. This problem is easy to avoid in that all you have to do is ask and the hotel will be more than happy to provide you with extras.

Theft can sometimes be a an issue at certain hotels. If you are worried about this most hotels will have a safety deposit box you can use to store your valuables.

Sometimes a hotel will not have wifi or the wifi will not be working. To avoid this you should check the companies website to make sure that they guarantee internet for all the rooms.

Amenities Not Working Properly
If the amenities are not working properly you have the right to demand a refund or a partial refund. If you do this the hotel will often very quickly correct the problem.

Not Enough Linen
Hotels will often put out the minimum amount of linen on a bed. If this is not a enough feel free to ask for more.

If your neighbors are keeping you awake do not hesitate to call the hotel front desk. They are obligated to take care of it if you complain.

If your room happens to be infested with some sort of bug or rodents bring it to the hotel's attention immediately and ask for a better room.

A Dirty Room
If you feel like your room has been improperly clean bring it to the hotel's attention as well and they will most likely be more than happy to clean it for you.

This problem may seem unavoidable, but one way to minimize it is to bring your own pillow as hotel pillows are often low quality and contribute to sleep disturbances.
